Apartment in a 17th Century Building
An elegant late-seventeenth-century apartment in the heart of Turin, with dual exposure onto two of the city's historic avenues. The tall coffered ceilings, present throughout every room, guided the design choices: in the bathroom and corridor, targeted lowered sections were introduced to accommodate the ducted air conditioning system, integrated with discretion into the historic context. Thanks to the skilled work of the parquet craftsmen, the original flooring was salvaged, mended with new planks, and extended seamlessly throughout the entire residence, restoring continuity and material richness to the spaces. Light is the protagonist of the generous salon, enhanced by four French doors opening onto balconies. Particular care was devoted to the study of artificial lighting, carefully calibrated to dialogue with the dark tonality of the timber ceiling and to ensure visual balance and comfort.
